Ready to Win?

Hello Fellow Dems,

I don’t know about you, but I feel an election coming on! Thanks to so many of you who are already knocking on doors, putting up yard signs, staffing Dan Scripps’ office and on and on. If you would like to help out but haven’t been contacted, please respond to this email and let us know what you’d like to do.

Presidential Debate: Tonight!!! I think we’d have to be living under a rock not to know about this important happening. One of our Precinct Delegates sent us the link below, which you will find contains valuable information for understanding all the important issues:
From NPR – September 24, 2016
From jobs and taxes to health care and immigration, there are a host of issues that will come up Monday night. Here’s what you should know to get smart quick.

Leelanau Board of Commission Debate: Thursday, Sept. 29 , 7 pm at the Elmwood Township Fire Hall. You won’t want to miss this debate between Democratic candidate John O’Neill and incumbent Republican Melinda Lautner. Let’s help John send Melinda into permanent retirement!

Absentee Ballots are out! Voting has already begun, folks, and if you want to vote absentee contact your township clerk and get your absentee ballot application. According to a County official, if you even think you might be out of your district on election day, you may request and vote via absentee ballot. No absent voter police will check into your whereabouts that day!

Vote for Justice and Education FIRST! Very little is of more importance to Democrats than justice and education — yet, because these races are “non-partisan” they do not appear on the straight-party, partisan section of the ballot. In fact, many people overlook voting for these important offices entirely. So we are urging all of you to vote for these outstanding candidates who have been endorsed by the Michigan Democratic Party:

Michigan Supreme Court: Frank Szymanski and Deborah Thomas
Michigan State Board of Education: Ish Ahmed and John Austin

And take a look at these candidates’ websites, and find out why they are so well qualified to represent us.

Remember, if you want to get involved in the election, respond to this email and tell us how you would like to help.

We have to win up and down the ticket … this is an epic opportunity to make our country work again.

In a serious struggle there is no worse cruelty than to be magnanimous at an inopportune time.
