It’s time to show your support for our County Commissioners!
Please consider attending one of the monthly meetings.  The next monthly meeting will be on July 12th, 9:00 a.m., at the Government Center in Suttons Bay,  and the Septic Ordinance goal could possibly be on the agenda.  You can also attend virtually via the County’s YouTube channel.

Pop-Ups Are Coming!

Would you like to hang out with some really cool Dems, talk with people in your community, spread the word about our great Dem candidates, and have some fun?  If so, you’re going to love volunteering at one of our rotating Pop-Ups starting this September.

The Pop-Ups rotate around the County on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in Suttons Bay, Glen Arbor, Empire, Northport, Leland, and Cedar/Maple City.  The Pop-Ups usually run for a few hours (times and schedule TBD).
You can volunteer at one or more- whatever works with your schedule.  We hand out yard signs, campaign information, bumper stickers, and buttons.  But most importantly, we talk with voters and provide Candidates the opportunity to be visible and talk with their potential constituents.

We all know that Democracy itself is at stake in this election and it is up to us, we the people, to protect it.  And I did mention it’s FUN too!

Indigenous Land Acknowledgement

Leelanau County occupies the ancestral, traditional and contemporary lands of Anishinaabek people. The Leelanau County Democratic Party recognizes The Anishinaabek of the Three Fires Confederacy, the Odawa (Ottawa), Ojibwe (Chippewa), and Bode’wadmi (Potawatomi); historic Indigenous communities in Michigan; and those who were forcibly removed from their homelands. Leelanau County occupies land ceded in the treaty of 1855. We give thanks to the Anishinaabek as the caretakers of Mother Earth and for their relationship to the land; We further recognize the ongoing relationship of dependence upon, and respect for, all living beings of earth, sky, and water. In offering this land acknowledgement, we affirm Indigenous sovereignty, history, and experiences.
