Are You Interested in Running for a Local School Board in Leelanau County?

There are a  18 school board positions that need to be filled in Leelanau County. 
Deadline to file is Jul 21 at 4:30 pm
Here is a list of available seats:Glen Lake: 4 seats  ( 2 six year, expiring Dec 31, 2026; 2 partial terms expiring end of 2022)Leland: 5 four year positions expiring Dec 31 2024 and one partial term ending in 2 yearsSuttons Bay: 4 four year terms and an additional 2 year termNorthport: two six year terms ending 2026 and one partial term expiring 2022.Candidates can file $100 nonrefundable fee or circulate a petition (separate petitions for each township in the district) Minimum 6 signatures needed (max 20).

If you would like to attend an informational Zoom about what a School Board Member does and how to run, the MDP is sponsoring an informational zoom meeting for potential school board candidates.  They will have an overview of what to expect as a school board member and open up a lot of time for questions.  The Zoom is on Monday, June 29th at 6:00 pm.  You can sign up here:
